Findlay found the most perfect home possible with an owner who personally understands and empathizes with his balance challenges as they are ones they share, right down to the same ear. As soon as she saw his little head cocked to one side she was intrigued. After reading his story she was in love and knew he was meant to be hers.
I vividly remember when she called me and asked “Is Maximus still available?” I said “yes” to which she responded “Not anymore!” And that was that. She is a warm hearted human with a beautiful soul, and is excited to go through life with him, side by side.
I could not have been more mind blown by the serendipity or more thrilled to see them each find their perfect match.
This little guy is very precious to us.
We noticed at a young age that he listed to left. He never let it slow him down and happily bounced around with the other puppies. He has always been a little clumsier than the rest but it's a handicap that he makes up for easily with enthusiasm. After a visit to the vet, we are told that he likely has a congenital inner ear abnormality that affects his balance. We waited quite some time to put him up for adoption because we wanted to be certain that he is absolutely otherwise healthy and thankfully he has proven to be just that. His overall balance has also improved with age as he has learned to compensate for his sense of balance being off on one side. That said, he will probably always be a little off kilter and for that reason, we have affectionately nicknamed him Captain Jack Sparrow.
We are looking for an extra special home who will love this happy little boy exactly the way he was born - adorable head tilt, 4 left feet, and all.
